  After completing a degree in Finance with a Spanish minor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Amrita moved to Chicago to develop as an actor. Her journey then took her to Black Box in 2009, and after working her way through the curriculum with Audrey and Laura, she was asked to join the Black Box Teacher Training Program, which she completed in early 2011. As an artist, Amrita has worked with a number of Chicago area companies including American Theatre Company, Annoyance, Dal Vivo, Joy Joy Tragedy, Rasaka Theatre Company, Steppenwolf Garage, StirFridayNights! and Urban Theatre Company. You can see her this spring in Urban Theatre Company's production of Fucking A by Suzan-Lori Parks and in Dal Vivo doing clown.
