Ian Daniel McLaren Instructor
Ian started as a Black Box student in 2009 and was immediately hooked. After working his way through the Black Box curriculum with Audrey and Laura, he continued on to the School at Steppenwolf where he studied Meisner with Amy Morton and K. Todd Freeman, and Viewpoints with Jonathan Berry. He was then asked to join the Black Box Teacher Training Program, which he completed in 2011. As an actor, Ian has worked with a number of Chicago area companies including The Gift, Stage Left, Chicago Dramatists, About Face, TimeLine, Caffeine Theatre and Chicago Children's Theatre, and has also worked on a number of local independent films. He can next be seen in fml: how Carson McCullers saved my life at Steppenwolf. He is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and The School at Steppenwolf.
